Being a model could potentially be really awesome, or boring, because you didn't have to work all day, everyday. It wasn't always a 9-5 kind of thing. She tried to sleep in, but she could never sleep in past 11. It was a bad habit she'd attempted to break, but it never really worked out too well for her. She'd only been out once all day, and that was to get lunch. She was having one of those lazy days where the more you just laid around, the more tired you got. Kayla was usually one who hated doing nothing, but it seemed like everyone was busy today. She sat up on her couch to pick up her phone to check the time. It was around 7, she should probably get dinner. She wasn't exactly the best chef in the world. She could probably count the number things she could cook on her fingers and only three involved a stove. Her mother had never taught her, or if she had tried, Kayla had resisted it. When she was living at home, she had found her mother one of the most annoying people ever. Now that she saw her less, she liked her a lot more. That probably sounds mean, but she was always hovering over her shoulder, and interested in even the simplest things. It got really old, really quick. She got off the couch, walking to her room, which wasn't far. Her apartment wasn't exactly spacious, it was one bedroom. She pulled her hair into pigtails and threw on a plaid long sleeve shirt and boots over her previously plain outfit of a tank top and skinny jeans. She walked outside, locking her door and slipping the key in her pocket. She walked down to the closest good Japanese restaurant near her apartment. She always felt like people were looking at her when she was walking, but it was more self-conscious than overconfident. She walked into the restaurant and seated herself, waiting for a waitress to approach her. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and decided to call Victoria, hoping she wasn't busy. She didn't pick up the phone, so she left a message. "Hey Icky Vicky," she joked. "I'm at Sakura, and I'm all alone-y on my own-y, so if you're not busy, I think you should come down here and eat with me. Alright, well, call me back, love you. Peace out girl scout." she said before hanging up the phone. As soon as she closed her phone, a waitress appeared at her table, handing her a menu and asking her what she wanted to drink. "Uh, Dr.Pepper, please," she said politely with a smile. She used to be a waitress, so she knew how annoying rude customers were. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -MUSIC PLAYING: CUTE IS WHAT WE AIM FOR STATUS OF POST: FINISHED THE OUTFIT: HERE.BANNER HERE: ME! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LEAVEMYDOOROPENJUSTACRACK ((T A K E M E A W A Y F R O M H E R E))!!! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victoria was growing tired of the same old routine. Work, sleep, work, sleep, it was tiresome. The girl had moved to New York City to have fun, not just work and sleep. How could that ever be construed as enjoyable? Running a hand through her messy bob she fished her keys out of her purse. Victoria was terribly forgetful, and she had left her phone in her apartment (if you could call it that) again. She didn't have plans she was thinking of curling up on the couch with Ben and Jerrys and maybe watching what was left of Edward Scissorhands. She wished she had one of those nice set ups where she could record TV shows, but she just didn't make that much. All her money went towards rent, phone, and electricity. Oh, and shoes. You know, the necessities. Her apartment wasn't much to be prous of, she certainly wouldn't invite her parents over to visit. It wasn't messy by any means, Victoria was too OCD for that, but it wasn't classy. She has a Hello Kitty sheet that she hung on a rod as a make shift curtain to separate the side of the tiny room that she used for her bedroom and the rest that she used for her kitchen/livingroom. She prayed to some unforseen god to help her hit it big so maybe she could buy a penthouse apartment or something. Anything was better than a one room apartment that she barely had enough money to pay for.
She could her her phone ringing as she pushed open the door. "Crap," she mumbled to herself as she raced to get the phone that she had left on the counter next to her empty glass. The call ended right when she reached her phone. Sighing she picked up the glass, washed it, and put it away. Victoria had the bare necessities. Two glasses, to plates, forks, spoons, and knives. Her cabinents were sparse which probably helped her stay so thin. She figured if she lost a few more pounds she'd get recognized faster and then maybe, just maybe she wouldn't have to wait tables anymore. She picked up her phone and listened to the voice mail. It was Kayla. There was only two people that called her, ever, Kayla and Ace, but she wasn't complaining. Oh, she was inviting her to go to Sakura. That was evil, it was almost like she knew Victoria wanted to go on a diet and was doing everything imaginable to stop it.
Victoria texted her back, you're evil, but I'll meet you there anyway (: Back onto the cold streets of NYC. She didn't see the need to waste money on a cab when she could simply walk to the restaurant, and it wasn't like it was high class anyway. Looking down at what she was wearing she shrugged. She was going to freeze, but asian food was worth it. Victoria wrapped her arms around herself as she walked down the busy street. Back home, everyone was in bed by 7 so there wasn't a lot of traffic. Only in New York was walking faster than driving. The leggy girl walked into the restaurant and smiled. They knew her here, which was immensely sad. She sat down in front of Kayla. "You are an evil diet breaker. I just made the resolution ten minutes ago!" She said with a big smile on her face to show she wasn't mad. "So, whatcha getting?" She asked. She hated her accent, it stuck out so bad with all the northerners.

She didn't know why she was apparently evil, but she knew she was sure to find out. She would have sent her a message back, but she knew that she would be seeing her in a matter of minutes. The restaurant was conveniently in between both of their apartments, they found it forever ago while agreeing to meet half-way. She sipped her Dr.Pepper and when she looked up she saw Victoria heading towards her. Almost everyone knew them here, and she really thought they only asked what she wanted as a matter of routine, because she'd gotten the same thing as long as she could remember. She switched it up sometimes so she'd have a new thing, but in the end she'd always end up saying the regular. "Well how was I supposed to know that?" she asked with a smile. Kayla was usually on a diet as well, but occasionally she would just break it again. No girl could live without Sakura's. That would just be complete torture. "Hibachi chicken, as always. What about you?" she asked, though she probably could have just said it herself without asking. They came here way too much. Kayla was used to Victoria's accent, but it still made her smile. She didn't really have one, although somehow if she got mad she really sounded like she was from Jersey, which she was, but it wasn't something she flaunted. She sipped her drink, attempting not to swallow the ice. She really hated drinking without a straw, even if it made her look like she was four. "Oh, you're not the only one breaking your diet though," she said in attempts to reassure her. Victoria didn't even need to be on a diet, she was already super skinny. But Kayla knew better than anyone that modeling agencies were strict on that. It always made her feel bad about breaking her diets. "I had chili cheese fries for lunch," she admitted with a grin. She didn't feel bad enough not to smile about it. That was usually what she ended up breaking her diets for, so she didn't expect Victoria to be surprised. The waitress walked back over to the two of them and smiled. She knew them, but Kayla figured she would ask them anyway. "What are you girls having today?" It almost made Kayla laugh that she didn't take out a pen. She could be fifty years old coming to this place. "Hibachi chicken with rice," Kayla answered with a smile. The place wasn't exactly high class, but Kayla hated to waste money especially when she could get something really good that didn't cost too much. It was kind of darkly light, which was supposed to look cool and New York-ish, but Kayla knew it was just because they didn't have money to spend all over the place for lights. It was never really filled, but it was never really empty either. It was one of her favorite places in the city, which all in all might be rather sad.
